Cathay Pacific has just extended one of the best deals in the air, the All Asia Pass, which costs $1,299 (CAD$1,999) and gives you round-trip economy class air from New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Vancouver, or Toronto to Hong Kong (Mon.-Weds. only), plus 21 consecutive days of economy class travel to 17 other Asian cities on Cathay or its subsidiary Dragonair. (The clock starts ticking the day you arrive in Hong Kong, so it may be wise to visit that city at the conclusion of your trip.) The other cities are: Bangkok, Beijing, Cebu, Denpasar (Bali), Fukuoka, Jakarta, Karachi, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Nagoya, Osaka, Penang, Sapporo, Seoul, Singapore, Surabaya, Taipei, and Tokyo — and only one visit is permitted per city.
Upgrades to Business Class are available on transpacific segments at $1,299 each way. And if you register as a Cathay Pacific CyberTraveler, you’ll receive a $200 (CAD$500) discount for yourself and up to three companions, bringing the price down to $1,099 (CAD$1,499). Those 55 and over are eligible for another $100 discount. Departure windows from North America are Feb. 15 through May 13, and Aug. 17 through Dec. 1, 2005. For departures between May 14 through Aug. 16, the pass costs an additional $350. Minimum stay is seven days and travel must be completed by Dec. 9, 2005.
The All Asia Pass must be bought through a travel agent. See chart below for add-on costs, and check the Cathay Pacific website for rule changes. (www.cathayusa.com/offers/aap)
