Many Business and First Class promotional holiday fares to Europe expired on Sept. 24, only to come back the next day with changes in the fine print, such as purchase deadlines and advance-purchase requirements. The fare shuffle on American left two cities in Europe, London and Edinburgh, with a lower First Class fare than Business Class or only $100 more than Business Class.
