Delta Vacations is the package tour arm of Delta and Northwest. Its packages can save you as much as 70%, but they are not posted on the airline’s website or booking engines such as Orbitz.

As with all package programs, you must book a hotel (two-night minimum). Other ticket requirements: 14-day advance-purchase and a Saturday-night stay.
The program is most effective to Asia and Hawaii, but offers no savings to Europe, Mexico, or the Caribbean. Vacation packages are not offered for travel to Africa, Australia, or South America.
Sample savings on travel to Asia: Business Class from Detroit to Tokyo costs $11,053 round-trip through Delta, but only $3,204 with Delta Vacations, a savings of $7,849. We checked the program and found a number of two- and threestar hotels starting at $180 in Shanghai and $330 in Tokyo (two-night stay).
Sample savings on travel to Hawaii: First Class from New York to Honolulu costs $2,758 round-trip, versus $2,079 through Delta Vacations.
