All Nippon Miles: Brings the First Class suite down to 140,000 miles. Transfer 115,000 Starpoints or 140,000 Amex Reward points to ANA. Award space is often similar as Asiana’ sown space.
No Miles? No Problem With the Buy Miles to Fly In Style Strategy
Purchase Amex Rewards Points: They cost 2.5¢ each, and you can buy up to 500,000 points annually. Transfer them to ANA and a First Class award costs $3,500 round-trip, plus taxes (about $365) for a ticket that otherwise goes for as much as $18,292, savings of up to $14,427 (79%).
Purchase Life Miles: This might be your best bet if you don’t have access to Amex or Star wood points. Life Miles is a big miles seller; it charges 180,000 miles for an Asiana First Class Suite. Through this program and using FCF’s strategy outlined in the December 2013 report. You can book Los Angele’s Seoul for $2,961 including taxes (a $12,613 / 81% savings), when you buy miles at half off. The last sale was in December 2014.
If you don’t buy miles when on sale, you can still get the Suite for $4,149 (if you use the “buy-down miles” strategy when making a booking, which simply increases the cash to reduce the number of miles), for a potential savings of up to $15,331 (84%). Award space is often similar as Asians own space.
