$599 Orlando-Glasgow Fare Each Way That fare is available on Scottish airline Flyglobespan beginning June 2—in Business Class. Premium Economy is $339 and economy is just $175. Aircraft is a 244-seat Boeing 767-300 with 24 Business Class, 60 Premium Economy, and 160 no-frills seats. The airline says Business Class seats are 23 inches wide, with 50 inches of legroom. Flights depart Orlando at 6:30 p.m. and arrive in Glasgow at 7:30 a.m. the next day. Virgin Atlantic Online Mileage Purchase Flying Club members can now buy up to 25,000 miles annually from Points.com. Miles are sold at $52 per 1,000 (5.2¢/each) or $160 per 5,000 (3.2¢).

My Take: This could be a decent deal—if you’re not an American Express Membership Rewards member, or if you buy the miles at the $160 rate. American Express sells points, transferable to Virgin Atlantic miles, at 2.5 cents each or $1,000 for 40,000 miles, the cost to upgrade to Upper Class. Either way, go for it if you can, as Virgin has one of the best Business Class seats to Europe. Upgrade availability is better on routes with multiple flights daily, such New York-London (six/daily).
