Last month, American lowered 30-day advance-purchase Business Class fares to $1,196, and it also introduced a lower First Class fare, cutting its previous fare by 30%.
Then in the May 26 FCF alert, AA came out with a new First Class fare in which AA upgraded passengers from Business Class for only $400 more round-trip; the fare ended May 31, but now it is back till June 5, and I’d bet it will be extended again.
Sample Savings: New York–Los Angele’s or JFK–San Francisco now goes for $1,596 round-trip (Business Class is $1,196: Compared to the old fare of $2,816 (inclusive), a difference of $1,220 (43%).
