April 2008
Read Offline

Through May 20, and from Aug. 11 to Nov. 30, Thai is offering one-way upgrades to Premium Economy for an additional $199 from Los Angeles and $220 from New York.

Seats offer 42 inches of legroom, and recline 122 degrees (although the website claims 135 degrees), are 19 inches wide (more than Business Class on Delta’s 767-300s, the same as Business Class on United’s 767s), have 115-volt power outlets, and an entertainment system. The seats are only on the carrier’s Airbus 345s. No minimum stay required; maximum stay three months. Details: (800) 426-5204.

Earning Miles

With fares this low, it’s no time to spend miles (the 110,000 miles required isn’t a deal anyway), but rather time to earn them. Thai is a Star Alliance member, so you can earn miles in the United and US Airways mileage programs.
