Congratulations! You’ve finally found the time for that needed vacation to Hawaii. Just pay $2,300 or more per person, and plenty of airlines are waiting to whisk you off to the islands in First Class. What’s that? You want to pay much, much less? All right...enjoy those hours in coach, and don’t forget to pack some Ben-Gay along with the sunscreen. What’s that? You refuse to fly economy, but you’re willing to spend all the frequent-flyer miles it takes for an upgrade? Sorry, there’s no availability on your preferred travel dates.

If this scenario, or any part of it, sounds like your own tropical depression, don’t give up; there’s an excellent alternative. Try booking your next Hawaiian vacation through an airline’s vacation division or a tour company. Here are some samples of how to save big-time.

Book First Class on Northwest from Los Angeles to Honolulu and you’ll pay $2,348 round-trip, but if you book the trip with NWA WorldVacations you’ll pay $831 round-trip (65% less, and at times the same fare as economy).

Call American Airlines for a quote on First Class from San Francisco to Honolulu and it’s $2,263 round-trip. Contact AAVacations and you’ll be quoted $1,476 round-trip (35% less).

Fly from Chicago to Maui with United and your published First Class round-trip fare is $3,288. Contact upscale tour operator Classic Vacations and your price is $2,387 (27% less).

Note: All carriers’ vacation divisions have booking restrictions. Depending on the airline as well as destination and departure city, these packages require a minimum of a two-night hotel stay (which could cost as little as $100 extra per person).

AAVacations: (800) 321-2121 Classic Vacations: (866) 267-1934 NWA WorldVacations: (800) 800-1504
