Qatar Update: As FCF reported in February, Qatar launched its new “super Business Class” last month, called QSuite. The new seats, configured 1x2x1 will house the first-ever double-bed in Business Class. Passengers booked in the center four seats can create their own suite—and the adjustable monitors contribute to the effect. More details here.

Qatar Airways Lie-Flat Business Class

United: As of June 8, the carrier will offer lie-flat seats in its premium cabin on San Francisco-Boston, using B757-200 and B777-200 aircraft. Lowest Business Class fare on this route starts at $1,296 or 50,000 miles round-trip; upgradable economy fares start as low as $328 plus 40,000 miles and $150 co-pay round-trip. Etihad Airways First Class

Delta: Good news. It starts daily non-stops Los Angeles-Washington, DC National Airport (DCA) on April 24, and non-stop Boston-San Francisco flights on June 8, using a B757-200s, both offering flat-bed seats. Bad news: Elite upgrades are NOT applicable! You have to ask yourself, why does Delta even have this on its website: “Let your loyalty lead you to elite status and be rewarded with industry-leading benefits.” Delta offers no elite upgrades when it matters most.

If you had to guess, how long do you think the two check marks above will last? For more on the new routes and Delta’s elite upgrade policy, go here. For 26 Domestic Delta Flights That Offer Free “In-Class Seat Upgrades,” go here.
