New Transcon Business Class Fares Now Require Less Planning

Seven-day advance Business Class fares had been steady at $3,100 to $3,400 on San Francisco-New York on the three major airlines; then, on Jan. 19, AA came out with a special 7-day advancepurchase fare at $1,196 round-trip on this route (not yet offered on LAX-JFK). It’s anyone’s guess how long it will be offered. It is possibly a new trend, since AA has matched JetBlue’s fare and advance-purchase requirement. We’re waiting for Delta and United to match.
